Introducing the faces behind HC Waste-Free Party Hire! We are Oli and Susan, and we started gradually making environmentally friendly changes in 2019. We set our company up after planning our own son’s birthday party. We didn’t want to throw items away, and couldn’t find what we wanted locally- high quality, bright and robust items for hire, and without the cleanup!

I (Susan) am one of the founding members of the Dane Valley Environmentally Friendly Group and dedicate a good amount of time to helping others in an encouraging way on their journey towards reducing their impact on the environment; be that encouraging swaps, chatting about environmental issues, and following the latest news and research to keep myself abreast of the issues so I can help and advise others. I also attend meetings with key members of the community to plan our “Green Vision” for Holmes Chapel. I am new to this too and love learning from others.

Oli works in social media for a local company, bakes all of the bread we eat from scratch, including the greatest garlic bread known to man (to cut our plastic waste!) and is the clever person behind our branding on our page and posters.

In 2020, we teamed up with Annabell (Susan’s bff) to bring vintage tea party china in to the mix and expand our offering for both adults and children’s parties. Annabell has been collecting preloved vintage tea cups, silverware and china for several years and loves the philosophy of reuse, relove and repurpose! She has previously hired props and styled vintage weddings so just ask if you need anything to make your party that extra bit vintage.
